Sapphire is a gem added by RedPower 2, like Rubies and Green Sapphires. They can be found semi-rarely underground. Seen as far down as level 10 but also higher up around level 45.
Usage

Like other gems, it can be used to construct the basic tools, including axes, pickaxes, shovels, swords, handsaws, and sickles. They can also be crafted into a block. The tools made by Sapphires are as fast as diamond tools, and they last longer than iron tools, but not as long as diamond, lasting 501 uses. They also cannot mine Obsidian.
Like other gems, it can be macerated and centrifuged to extract impurities. When centrifuged gives 2 Aluminium Dust and 3 Compressed Air Cells. Needs 3 Empty Cells and 8 Sapphire Dust.
With GregTech installed, they can be used to craft Lapotron Crystals, in the same way that GregTech Sapphires can.
