Green Sapphire is a gem added by RedPower 2, like Rubies and Sapphires. Green Sapphire Ore can spawn as far down as level 10 and as high as level 45. The Green Sapphire is actually an Emerald and was originally called such, but since the addition of Emeralds to the vanilla game the name was changed to avoid conflicting with Vanilla.

Like other gems, Green Sapphires can be used to construct the basic tools, including axes, pickaxes, shovels, swords, handsaws, and sickles. They can also be crafted into a block. The tools made by Green Sapphires are as fast as diamond tools but have a lower durability of only 501 uses, and cannot mine Obsidian.
Green Sapphire is also used to craft the Sonic Screwdriver. It currently has few secondary crafting recipes, making it a preferred choice over Rubies or Sapphires for creating gem tools.
Green Sapphires can occasionally be found in Dungeon loot chests.
