The Fusion Material Extractor is a machine added by GregTech as part of the overhaul of the Fusion Reactor system introduced in GregTech Version 2.82c. The Fusion Energy Extractor is an integral block of the Fusion Reactor Multiblock Structure and additionally serves as one of the most useful machines in the Fusion System. It forms the output gateway for items & liquids; as the Fusion Material Injector sends new materials into the coils, the Fusion Material Extractor empties the coils of the finished product, which is generally Helium Plasma, or more rarely, other matter, depending on the recipe.

Usage

The Fusion Material Extractor is one of the simplest machines because there simply aren't a lot of choices in its use. It won't extract liquids without a pipe operating in extraction mode, and that basically leaves Liquiducts or possibly waterproof Pipes.

These seem to work best when placed on the front of the Fusion Material Extractors directly next to the Fusion Control Computer - the inward facing ones. (Please delete this if you have opposite experiences and I was just having bad luck!) Take care not to attempt to control water extraction by putting a lever or torch against the Fusion Control Computer, as you will shut your reactor down in the process. From here, it's up to you where to send your plasma, though it's highly likely that most people will eventually have it arrive somewhere that a Plasma Generator can convert it into useable power.
