Tin Ore is an ore found commonly in upper layers. It can be smelted into Tin Ingots or turned into two Tin Dust using a Macerator, Pulverizer or a Rock Crusher. In the Pulverizer it has a 5% chance of also giving one piece of Pulverized Iron. When placed in an Industrial Grinder, in addition to giving 2 tin dust per ore, also gives a tiny pile of iron and a tiny pile of Zinc Dust when using just water. Using a Sodium Persulfate Cell replaces the tiny pile of zinc with a full pile.

With IndustrialCraft 2's ore generation it is found on layers 0 to 40. To mine the ore, a Stone Pickaxe or better is required. The Direwolf20 Pack is using the configurable ore generation of Thermal Expansion which by default is configured to spawn tin at levels 25 to 50 in clusters around 7 in size. In FTB Ultimate 1.1.2, Tin Ore appeared in a quarry starting at Y=54.

Tin Ore is the source of Tin, which is used for crafting things such as RE Batteries and Empty Cells.
