The High Energy Pellet Launcher is an item added by the Portal Gun Mod. It is activated by a redstone signal and shoots out an orange energy pellet (a High Energy Pellet, or HEP for short) that bounces against any block in its way and eventually breaks unless a High Energy Pellet Catcher catches it, destroying the pellet and supplying itself with the energy. If a player is hit by the pellet, the message "<name> was disintegrated," shows, and the player is instantly killed (unless you are in the QuantumSuit where you will be left with 1/2 hearts), along with the pellet disappearing. The same applies to any mob, except the message does not show.
