The Electric Type Sorter is a machine that works similarly to the Electric Translocator, with a few exceptions. Like the Electric Sorter, it differs in that it has a second output face. It sorts these items on the basis of an item category selected from its GUI. Items are pulled from an inventory adjacent to its input face, then tested against the configured category. Those that do not match, are placed in an inventory adjacent to the primary output face. Those that belong in the configured category are instead directed to an inventory adjacent to the secondary output face.

The category must be selected from the following list:

• Ore Blocks
• Gems (diamonds, rubies, garnets, etc.)
• Nuggets
• Tiny Piles of Dust
• Dusts
• Ingots
• Packaged Blocks (Iron Blocks, Copper Blocks, etc.)
• Leaves
• Saplings
• Logs
• Planks
• Food
• Grindable Ore Blocks
• Forestry Honey Combs
