The Brass Ingot is an item which is used in several of RedPower 2's machines and blocks. It is created in a similar way that Bronze is created, by combining 3 Copper and 1 Tin together. However, doing so requires an Alloy Furnace or a Blulectric Alloy Furnace to smelt the Copper and Tin together. This can be bypassed by using Copper and Zinc Dust, which creates Brass Dust that only needs to be smelted in a regular furnace.

Brass is mainly used in the creation of Pneumatic Tubes, RedPower 2's variation on Buildcraft Pipes. Pneumatic Tubes can then be crafted with Redstone Dust to create Redstone Tubes which can carry a Redstone current to machines such as the Filter or the Transposer. Brass is also used in devices such as the Frame Motor and the Retriever.

Brass can also be used in place of Bronze Ingots when creating Mixed Metal Ingots. This is a much more efficient method of creating Mixed Metal Ingots, as Brass ingots can be made at a 1:1 ratio, whereas Bronze ingots are made at a 2:1 ratio; this means that when four ingots, three of copper and one of tin, are used in making Brass, four ingots are returned, but only two ingots are returned when performing the same operation in a normal crafting grid to create Bronze. Brass can also be cheaply created, as all it requires are some Solar Panels leading into a Battery Box to power a Blulectric Alloy Furnace, which are all relatively affordable items.
