Long Fall Boots are an item added by the Portal Gun Mod. One boot, by itself, is useless. Two must be crafted together to be useable.
When worn, the player is completely invulnerable to any fall damage. The boots are also completely indestructible, which makes them a relatively cheap upgrade from IC2's Rubber Boots.
Since they have the same armor rating as Quantum-Boots (meaning 1,5) and also make you immune to fall damage, they are a much cheaper and more affordable type of armor (4 diamonds being the only expensive thing in the recipe, compared to iridium plates in the Quantumboots).
Also, the Long Fall Boots are indestructible and work continously, while quantum boots need to be charged in order for them to protect you from fall damage.
The only advantage from the quantumboots over the Long Fall boots is that they give you the ability to jump really high.
It is highly recommended to use Long Fall Boots instead of Quantumboots.
Last, it is possible to enchant and rename the Long Fall boots using an anvil and enchanted books.
