Paint refers to when a Paint Can has been filled with Dye and can be used to color a Paint Brush. To color a Paint Brush for the first time, Paint of the necessary color must be combined with a blank Paint Brush. In a Paint Can, one Dye yields 16 refills to a Paint Brush. Each refill yields 16 uses of a Paint Brush. Thus, one unit of Dye and two units of Flax Seeds will yield 256 uses of a Paint Brush of a particular color, enough to paint four stacks of Redstone Tubes or Pneumatic Tubes.

Any color of dye can be used and the color of Paint will change respectively.
