Charcoal Dust is a dust added by GregTech. It can be used in the creation of Gunpowder and is created by processing Charcoal in a Macerator. It is interchangeable with Charcoal Dust from Railcraft, as it is able to be used in Railcraft's same Charcoal Dust recipes and to be exchanged via the Forge Lexicon.

Unlike Coal Dust, Charcoal Dust cannot be used as directly in the creation of Carbon Plates but can still be used to create them, albeit at a much higher cost to cells and Dust. One Carbon Plate can be created from eight Coal Dust, but creating them with Charcoal Dust requires eighteen Charcoal Dust, which must first be funneled into Empty Cells via the Industrial Electrolyzer. The Cells are also consumed in the process.
