The Redstone Tube is a version of the Pneumatic Tube with Redstone wire running inside. This allows the Redstone Tube to transmit Redstone current received from either Red Alloy Wire or from Jacketed Wire. This can be useful for triggering Filters and Transposers, as these require Redstone pulses and not a steady current if they are to function.
Redstone Tubes, like Pneumatic Tubes, can be painted. If two lines of Redstone Tube are running directly next to one another but are painted different colors, items will not be transferred between the two, but they will appear connected and can transfer Redstone signals.
Note that Redstone Tubes will not send a redstone signal to any non-RedPower 2 machines it connects to; you must use Jacketed Wire or Red Alloy Wire to transfer the signal.
